Masters of Content: The Rock

When it comes to content marketing, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the best.

In life, when you want to achieve success in a particular area, you need to find out who has attained what you want to achieve, study how they achieved it, then Deliver. Don't need to start small. Go Big and extract the principles from all of the great ones.

When it comes to content marketing, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is one of the best.

In June of 2018 The Rock told Forbes magazine "Social media has become the most critical element of marketing a movie for me," Johnson says. "I have established a social media equity with an audience around the world that there's a value in what I'm delivering to them."

The Rock has more than 180 Million followers across multiple platforms. He works on top of his contract, cash for his social media marketing.

Think about that: He gets paid to endorse his own movie.

It works out well for the big studio's budget, allowing him to concentrate his efforts on his fans. Imagine dropping your product, and 180 million people instant know about. Not only do they know about it, but they are eager to take advantage of it.

The Rock has permission to sell to his followers because they chose him. They eagerly await what he does, says, and thinks. They have been conditioned that everyday something exciting will happen. The Rock delivers remarkable content by sharing his workouts, meals, and on the set updates to everything he does. When he flies to China to promote his movie, you know about it.

You may not have 180 million followers, however, you do not need 180 million followers unless your product is going to Gross 11.1 billion dollars in sales worldwide. You can apply his content marketing strategy in your own business, on a smaller scale to your loyal followers.

First, you have to build loyal followers. How is The Rock a Master of Content?

1.SHOW UP, AND OUT WORK EVERYONE

The Rock puts in the work. He will tell you flat out that he will outwork you. His followers see him work every day, and that builds trust. When your customers see you put in the work, share step by step the progress, and you provide value, they will be eager to see what you have to say, think, and do. You have to put the work in. His first movie only grossed 165 million, not 11.1 billion dollars. It took time, and he put in the work. Put in the work.

2. BE CONSISTENT

The Rock puts out content every day, multiple times a day, about multiple projects. Content Marketing can do wonders for your business. People are drawn by those that move. Consistency builds loyalty. If you boil water for 2 minutes, turn it off, then try 30 minutes later for 2 minutes again, it will never boil. You cannot try for a short period of time and expect your reach to boil over, and then come back 6 months later, and expect it to work out. You have to be consistent. Put out content consistently.

3. ENGAGE YOUR AUDIENCE

The Rock is the master of engaging his audience. He has been engaging his Millions and Millions of The Rock's fans since his time in the WWE, and he still, till this day continues to engages his audience. 60% of his revenue at the box office comes globally. He wants to reach everyone and will hop on his Jet to do so. He engages every day across his social media platforms. You have to give, you cannot just take. You have to interact with not just your followers, but others as well. You have to build.

4. BE YOURSELF

The Rock is a brand, but he lives the brand. His mission statement is consistent, and you know what you are getting. That builds customer loyalty because he stays true to his image. Be true to your image. Do not try to project something you are not, just because it is trending. The Rock is not trying to compete with Oscar-winning movies. He is sticking to his game plan that reflects who he is. Stick to your purpose.

5. THERE ARE NO SECRETS

Everything is out there. He shares what he does, when he gets up, how many reps he does, how many days they are filming a project. The Rock is very open with his audience, which builds loyalty to the brand. The more you share, the more they will trust.

The Rock is a MASTER OF CONTENT

He has developed himself as a brand, and by just paying just a little extra attention to the strategy of his content, it will reveal even more remarkable insight. Can you keep up with The Rock? You don't need the same content, you just need to follow the basic principles discussed, and you too can be a MASTER OF CONTENT!
